'Ten Questions to Ask When Evaluting Adventure Travel Packages'

Two-Week Luxury Adventure Trips To Thailand from Total Body Fitness Begin in November Ranking High on the Value Index With Kayaking, Elephant Trekking, Rock Climbing and Snorkeling at Bargain Prices

August 2003 (Newstream) -- Even in a down economy, there are great travel bargains to be found, including Total Body Fitness' Adventure Vacations to Thailand. Adventure travel is hot and TBF Travel is offering two-week trips to Bangkok, Southern Thailand and the Grand Palace for $2,899 including airfare, five-star hotels and multisport guides and activities such as kayaking, elephant trekking and rappelling.

Elephant Trekking One of Many Adventure Activities in Thailand

"When comparing adventure travel vacation packages, it's important to look at the fine print and know what questions to ask to make sure you are getting a great adventure as well as travel value," said Bill Driskill, co-founder of Total Body Fitness Travel. "At TBF Travel, we add in the fun of multisport activities with stunningly beautiful locations. This is extreme fun, but not extreme adventure where you are exhausted each day and sleeping in huts with dirt floors. We stay in five-star hotels, for an extreme experience in travel value."

When Comparing, Nothing to Worry About in the "Fine Print" with TBF

When comparing trips, TBF exceeds the value offered in other adventure travel vacations, especially if you do an apples-to-apples comparison, paying attention to details in the fine print. According to Driskill, there's nothing to worry about in the fine print with TBF. In comparing vacations, some tour operators for example, do not include airfare to the meeting location or destination. Other trips include travel days as part of the total number of vacation days, meaning the actual vacation/fun days are fewer than what's listed in the brochure. Some offer lesser accommodations versus five-star hotels or tack on hidden fees, taxes or tips up to the hundreds of dollars.

With TBF Travel there are 14 full days of vacation fun. The trip includes round-trip travel from San Francisco to Bangkok with four nights in the five-star Peninsula Hotel and 10 nights at two tropical resorts in Southern Thailand in Railay Bay and Ko Samui. Tours and activities include a Grand Palace Tour, snorkeling, elephant and jungle trekking, waterfall exploration, sea kayaking, rock climbing lessons, abseiling (rappelling), cave exploration and swimming.
